About AIOC

The All India Oriental Conference (AIOC) was founded in 1918 by the founders of the Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute (BORI) to promote scholarly dialogue in Indology and Oriental Studies across India. Its first session was inaugurated in Pune on 5th November 1919, and in 1944, AIOC was formally registered with its headquarters at BORI, Pune.

As a prestigious biennial conference, AIOC has provided a platform for scholars, researchers, and academicians to share their knowledge and research for over a century. Having successfully completed 50 sessions across renowned universities and institutions in India, the 51st Session of the All India Oriental Conference will be held at the University of Patanjali, Haridwar, from 29th to 31st October 2026.

The Conference continues to foster academic excellence, encourage interdisciplinary research, and preserve India’s rich intellectual and cultural heritage. Over the years, it has played a significant role in advancing Sanskrit studies, Oriental research, and the dissemination of traditional knowledge through scholarly publications and discussions.
